Fr Pat Munroe took over from Fr Tony Myers at the end of August 2017.

We offer a hearty welcome to Fr Pat Munroe.

Fr Pat was born in Ireland, and was ordained as a priest for the Shrewsbury Diocese in 1975.  He has served in a variety of parishes including St Wilfrid's Northwich, St Peter's in Hazel Grove and most recently, Our Lady & the Apostles in Stockport.


Father Anthony Myers was born in Workington and trained  for the priesthood at Ushaw College, Durham.

Ordained in 1966, he went to Rome for further studies, and returned to Ushaw College to teach Canon Law. He was there from 1972 until 1985, during which time he also acquired the posts of Assistant Bursar and Vice Rector. 

Returning to the Diocese, he served at St. Christopher's, Romily (1985-1986), was Parish Priest of St. Bede's, Weaverham (1986-1990) and St. Peter & Paul, New Brighton (1990-1996), before coming here to St. Hugh of Lincoln, West Timperley.

On 8th June 2009, the parish was amalgamated with that of St John the Baptist, Timperley, and renamed 'St Hugh and St John', Timperley.

Fr Myers retired at the end of August 2017.
